Warranty

I am somewhat amazed how some electric bike kit suppliers will state how their products are state of the art, but then only support it with an obscure warranty and/or one that is very short in duration. At Electric Bike Solutions, LLC we stand behind our products with good warranties and quality personalized support. All Kit components have at least a one year warranty, the motor a 2 year warranty, and because the battery is the most expensive part, batteries purchased as of 11-1-2015, now have an 18 month warranty. Of course we will always work with you in the rare occasion there is a problem after the warranty expires to ensure you are able to keep going Car Lite!

Be sure to check the warranty before you buy. Many suppliers don’t provide a warranty or only warrant the electronics for 6 months and/or the battery charger for six months (what good is the battery without a charger?).

Finally, most suppliers will say in their warranty that the buyer is responsible for shipping to repair any problems; well, we split the difference. You pay shipping to get it to us and we pay for shipping to return it provided there was indeed a problem with the component.

Limited Warranty

Electric Bike Solutions products are warranted to the original retail purchaser when purchased directly from Electric Bike Solutions, LLC (http://www.GoCarLite.com). All Electric Bike Solutions’ product warranties are effective from the date of purchase by the end user provided the product is purchased in NEW condition. Products purchased from 3rd party sellers are not covered under warranty from Electric Bike Solutions, LLC.

PARTS

Geared Hub Motors – 2 Year (up to 52 volts as of 1-1-2016)

All other Kit Components – 1 Year (up to 52 volts)
Battery and Battery Charger – 18 Months (as of 11-1-2015)

BATTERIES

PLEASE BE AWARE: Batteries MUST be stored in a cool dry environment, should be stored fully charged and should be maintained with maintenance charges (every 30 days) during longer periods of storage.  In addition, it is highly recommended that the battery be run down a ways at least every 30 days and then recharged.  This keeps the cells active. Damaged caused by improper care, water, dropping or any collision is NOT covered

Electric Bike Solutions Battery Packs – 18 months (as of 11-1-2015) – Battery Packs are warranted for a period of 1.5 years from the date of purchase from Electric Bike Solutions. A pack will be deemed defective if it fails to deliver 75% of nominal capacity within 18 months of purchase when discharged at .5C with a static resistive load (approximately 300 watts with our 52V battery) following full charge with an approved charger.  The battery will either be repaired to provide at least 75% of nominal capacity or replaced if repairs cannot be made.

WHAT IS NOT COVERED UNDER WARRANTY?

“Spin Out” – Spinning out the axles inside of your dropouts – We are unable to be there when the kit is installed so it is up to you to understand the high torque involved at the dropouts and install them correctly.

“Over Voltage” – Connecting a larger battery larger than 60 volts fully charged can damage the controller, wires and/or connectors. Damaging any kit component or motor by connecting the wrong battery type is not covered under our warranty. The Electric Bike Solutions System controller will work with any 36 volt or 48 volt (60v fully charged) battery pack. Using the controller with any battery larger than 60 volts will void the warranty for your controller.

Warranties are limited to replacement of parts and/or products determined by Electric Bike Solutions, at its sole discretion, to be defective.

Electric Bike Solutions Warranty does not cover or apply to the following: Normal wear and tear; any damage, failure and/or loss caused by accident, shipping, misuse, neglect, abuse and/or failure to follow instructions or warnings as stated on the product or in the applicable owner’s manual or other printed materials provided with the product; damage, failure and/or loss caused by the use of the product for stunt riding, ramp jumping, competition, off-road use, acrobatics, trick riding or other similar activities, or use in any other manner for which such products were not specifically designed.

This warranty does not apply to any products or components, mechanical and/or electrical, which have in any way been altered from their original configuration by any person. Electric Bike Solutions will not be liable and/or responsible for any damage, failure or loss caused by any unauthorized service or use of unauthorized parts.

The Electric Bike Solutions Warranty does not cover or apply to any Electric Bike Solutions product sold by a non-authorized reseller or retailer. The Electric Bike Solutions Warranty does not cover or apply to any replacement, maintenance or accessory parts not sold directly by Electric Bike Solutions to the original retail purchaser.

WARRANTY CLAIMS

Warranty claims must be made by the original purchaser by contacting the Electric Bike Solutions (1-707-439-3179) within the warranty period (stated above).

Electric Bike Solutions LLC shall in no event be liable or responsible for incidental or consequential losses, damages or expenses in connection with their products. The liability of Electric Bike Solutions LLC hereunder is expressly limited to the replacement of goods complying with this warranty.

Changes to this policy

Electric Bike Kit Solutions reserves the right to update this Policy. Any changes will be posted to this site. We encourage you to continuously review our Warranty Policy.
